Default I am partial to 24mm for FF or 35mm. What is your favorite focal length for doing

landscape? If you use a digital lens...please convert to the apparent FF/35mm focal length?

I confuse easy in my old age!

My Canon FD 20mm is on one of my cameras at least 95% of the time.

For landscapes, though, I find that I can typically do far better with something like a 135mm or 200mm. Far too many photographers try to use a 20mm or other wide angle to "get it all in" in a landscape shot. I find it far more effective to use a long lens to pick out and focus on some particular interesting element.

What I do often use wide lenses for, though, is the same sort of thing-accentuating scenery elements by placing them really close to the lens. This is quite effective, but requires more effort than I often want to expend

Well, I've been totally grooving on my EF 16-35mm f/2.8L MKII on my 5D.... 16mm is pretty darn wide, and lots of fun. Its a great lens: decent wide open and quite sharp corner-to-corner stopped down.

I tend to be at one extreme or the other, though.... either 16 or 35mm.... not so much in the 20's. Probably because I'm not used to the whole "zoom" thing, all my other lenses being primes.
