In Ohio, is a lawncare company considered seasonal and do they have to pay overtime?
My boyfriend works for a lawncare company and his boss doesn't pay overtime. He says it is because he lets his employees mow their yards at home with his equipment and on the clock. I told him that if that's the case, we will mow our own yard on Sundays!! I was trying to look online for the law, but I can't find a clear answer on the seasonal thing.
It is seasonal work. As to overtime, I am pretty sure that if he is considered a professional, overtime is not required to be paid. I did not read the entire link, but he may be considered agriculture and therefor exempt from overtime.
