Default Houseplant Questions?

I've got a snake plant, and the main roots on the bottom are shaped somewhat like a U bend pipe, with one shoot on each side... Can i cut that big root in the center, and will both ends survive? Will yet another duplicate grow off each end/

Also, I've got two small Chinese evergreens(One was growing in a pot next to the other so i put them in different pots) I'd like to get them to grow into a "bush" as quickly as possible. I put some fertilizer in the soil, and I found a few worms that I tossed in =) LOL anyway, without overwatering them, what's the fastest way to make them grow?

I also have a small palm that's about a foot tall... under what conditions should it be under to grow to 3ft by summer?

if you can help on any of these, It would be really appreciated!
THX 4 your time!

as a palm freak , I can answer that.
There are over 3700 different types of palms in the world and over 100 are purchasable. Its unclear what type you have . Most potted palms do not grow fast. Planted in the ground in warm, weather will really help the palm grow fast. If you live in a cool area outside the palm belt you would need to dig it up in the fall.
The fastest growing palms are Washingtonia Robusta
aka Mexican Fan Palm , that thing will grow fast.
If your going to keep that palm , keep it in a sunny window and dont water very often in winter. Put it out on a patio in warm weather and it should take off. Fertilize the palm lightly in warm weather with water at the same time.

The snake plant roots can be cut

treat those evergreens like the palms

if you live in a warm climate . all those plants can be planted in the ground.

FYI = many palms can be grown in the ground in almost any state . The Needle Palm is hardy to -20*f cold events and the Sabal Minor *dwarf palmetto" is another. Here in tennessee , the Trachycarpus Fortunei aka chinese WINDMILL palm is really being used.
google these palm names for more information.

i would not cut the root in the center that is there life line.as for the other 2 you just seoarated they will be fine just make sure you do not over water them stick your finger about 1/2 inch into the soil if it is dry water them if it is still wet do not water.as for the palm depends on how much sunlight you give it and you do not overwater it could grow as much as what your saying.goodluck with all your plants.

Yes, to the snake plant question. You can divide it and it will be fine.

As for the Chinese evergreens, there really is no way to force them to grow faster. Just make sure they have a large enough container, the right kind of fertilizer, and are watered properly and they grow to be healthy. Patience is the most important part of gardening.

Same info. for the palm. You can't force it to grow faster. They have a set rate of growth and provided you give them what they need that will grow as they should.
