No light makes dead plants. Ignore that guy. Your "basil" plant will get bushier by topping it. Cut the top 2-3 inches off.....and I know you will find that VERY hard to do, but when you do, it will "shrub" There is a growth inhibitor on the tip of a growing plant which you will have cut off. This is why Christmas trees have longer branches on the bottom and shorter on the top because the top limbs are closer to the natural growth inhibitor of the plant.Trust me.
