ive just planted garlic which 'shooted' in the fridge.

Tomato's are the easiest things to grow! I take that back Potato's are! Just get a sprouted one form the cupboard and put it in soil, and watch it grow.

build a small "tee-pee", such that a child could crawl into it...them plant some pole beans around the base and the runners will take off and grow all over the tee-pee..

I've grown peppers, red, green & yellow from the seeds from the peppers I bought for cooking. Over the years I've planted melon seeds, orange, lemon & tangerine pips & also grape pips & peach stones. Unfortunately athough they grew they were barren as they didnt get x pollinated. I's great fun & I did it when my family were kids & now doing it with the grandkids.
They get enjoyment out of seeing them grow.

Bean shoots in a jam jar, cress on blotting paper.
