Praying mantids are non- selective predators. They will eat any bug that crosses there path. I have a honey bee hive and they will be around that instead of the infestation of aphids near by. Because of this, I would recommend not using them. I would use insecticidal soaps and oils. You can find them at garden centers. They break down naturally in the environment and is safe for the plant.
