It depends on what part of California as to how much it grows. I live in So. Ca. from Dec-Mar it does grow, butit's been 3 weeks since my lawn guy has come (due to rain) and it's scrappy looking but not really bad, as it's been very cold here. But pretty much year round any given lawn will experience some growth. Summer it's like green on steroid!!!
