Default Grass seed allergy?

I just been told our dog has a grass seed allergy. the vet has told me to give him piriton for 3 times for 24 hours. i was just wondering is there anything i can treat his sores (where he been nibbling) with until the piriton is in his system.

He's a rottie lab cross

My dog also has seasonal allergies, and anytime he gets a hot spot, I use some stuff called Dr. Gold's Corti-Caine (see link below) which I bought at my local pet store. You can use anything similar, the key is it has both hydrocortisone for the itch, and lidocaine for the pain. It also has a nasty taste added so they won't lick it off. This stuff works wonders for my dog.
Also, you might consider supplements in addition to, or to lessen the need for, your medication, but talk to your vet before changing or stopping your dosage. I use the Drs. Foster & Smith Maximum Relief allergy kit (link below) and my dog hasn't had to be on medicine since!

Go to www.petedge.com and buy the stuff called Bitter Apple. It's safe to spray on a dog's skin, but it tastes terrible. So, every time they lick or chew, they get an awful taste in their mouth and stop.
