Default backyard pond ?'s?

so i want to put a small pond in my bakcyard, it wouldnt be big we have an area about 3-4 ft by 3-4 ft.(i dont want a square pond though.) we have tarasses in our backyard so we want to have teh pond next to one of teh walls and have a pump up into a waterfall.*could i make a hole in the top stone of the taress and have teh water come out of that? or would it be too much trouble? could i just maybe put a 1ft x 1ft pond on teh upper taress and have teh waterfall?**what would be some good fish and plant and ect to put in it? i think koi would be too big right?**where can i get all this stuff in the northern virginia washington DC area?**could i put 2, say 40-50 gallon AQUARIAM filters in my pond? how would i set that up?much appreicated

http://www.gardengatemagazine.com/ex...terfeature.php that shows a good idea. you can probably take out the stones and make a small pond area. i don think you could put any fish though in such a small area.
