Default i made a pond in my backyard out of an ice cream container pushed in to the ground?

there are black bugs the size of dirt in their under a magnifine glass they look like small slaters they have about 6 legs and 2 antennas would anyone have a clue what they would be.(i live in the southern hemisphere

might they be fleas? I know that they drown in water.

either that's a small pond or you eat a lot of ice cream.
