How warm is your pond? Little ones will stay out of sight. They also swell if they need a poo. Don't know how you tell if they are pregnant as I have never bred fish, but I do know that water conditions usually need to be quite specific.Goldfish are also fickle little fish. Look good when you buy them, die in a few days unless bought from good shop.

they might hiding underneath shaded areas, shielded from view. you could also try to keep the water clean so you can see them more. there might be a problem if they are dying.

The bigger ones may have eaten the little ones and goldfish aren't mammals so they can't get pregnant - they lay eggs!

Well, for one thing it is not uncommon for goldfish to hide in the outdoor pond if they are new to it and unfamilure with it. Secondly goldfish don't get preggy, they lay eggs. Goldfish are not ready to breed untill they are about four inches long. You will need to place some short cuts of unraveled rope with knots at the top into the pond. The raveled part should be dangeling in the water. The female will lay her eggs in it and the male will fertalize them. Problem is Goldfish will eat thier eggs as they start to develope and will eat thier young once they are hatched. Good luck.

well they hide because they are scared of the shadows. they are not used to the shadows because predators are large and they think you are a predator. the preggy thing i have no clue how to tell.
