Default can i use marbles to use with hydroponics?

if not what else can i use. please post a.s.a.p.

I am a hydroponic grower here in Australia. Yes you can use anything you like to anchor your plants. Fish tank gravel (the very fine one) is ideal, but all the medium does is hold the plants the nutrient is what makes them grow. Good luck on an interesting subject.
