Default Ants on houseplants?

I've already searched the questions so I know how to KEEP ants off of my houseplants but how do I kill them and get them off of my plants? I have a screened patio and I sit my plants outside. My poor kalanchoe's leaves are all ate up and the ants are all over it! Is there anything at home that I can make to kill them or do I resort to the seven dust?

sprinkle cornmeal around and they will take it back to their nest and die- they can not digest the cornmeal. I do this around my yard and on my patio. It works and is safe for pets and kids.
