These will need to have well drained soil. Trim the basil as you go. As long as they are getting morning sun, and indirect sun, they should be fine. I would fertilize them no more than once a month. If you can keep the relative humidity of your home at a decent level (above 30%) they will thrive. Being in the Pacific NW this should not be a problem unless you have a wood stove.
