Default Herb growing help?

I am growing herbs. Parsley, chives, and basil. are the herbs supposed to have a yellowish tint, or does that mean they need more water?

Usually yellow is a sign of too much water....eek
Dig down in the soil around the roots BEFORE you go to water and see how wet the roots are. That alone will save your brain!! If they are dry.....water If they are wet...really wet, take some of the soil out and add new dry soil.
