Do you have to grow them from seeds, or can you use chives from a greenhouse? Mine are already up, in my front garden. They have grown really fast, since the snow just melted about two weeks ago. We had blizzards the first week of March, but that's how fast they've come up. So, hopefully they will grow fast enough for you...I would guess they'd be up in a week and a half to two weeks, with the best conditions. Good luck!

Oh, I just saw a packet of chives seeds in a store, and checked the germination duration--it said up to 10 days. Hope your project does well.
