Default I can grow most herbs but am unsuccessful with my favourite,Thyme. Does...

...anyone have any tips? I've decided to go back to basics and try to grow from seed but many thanks for all your useful suggestions. I will try some on the two new plants I've just bought. Thank you

Have you tried growing it outside, or in a larger pot? My mother has to transplant and/ or grow her Thyme so that it has plenty of room to grow.
