I want to start a small herb garden on my balcony (we live in south FL) but I have a

bug phobia...? Any suggestions on how to start it and everything...not much of a green thumb here. I tried buying the actual herbs grown already but lifted the pot only to get covered in these little black bugs..I know it sounds silly but I want to grow some things like parsley, lemon grass..any tips?
