I am currenly growin basil and parsley in a 2 foot by 8 inch window sill box. My basil has begun to germinate very close together and I am wondering what type of effect this will have on its growth. Some are growing centimeters apart. Will this have negative effects on its growth? If it will should I clip some of the plants to thin out the basil plants?

How often will you be using it? the more you pick, the closer together they can be as long as they have the depth for their roots. If you don't pick it very often, thin the plants out.

yr description sounds to me like the plants are too close to do well. dig up some of the inbetweens & repot for more plants or repot & give them away as gifts to your friends...
