Default Can I stop kids playing street football against my house and through my gardens?

I'm in the UK.I assume its the council that put up "No Ball Games: signs but what does it take to get them to do it. What rules or laws are being broken and what rights do I have? Are they allowed to play in a road? Hate to be a killjoy but they do have a park 5 minutes walk away.

I had the same problem some time ago.

If the ball comes into your property don't let the brats have it back they will soon learn to go elswhere. You could always have a word with the parents explaining that this activity is giving you grief and ask them to do something. If this fails ask the police to help you and if the police refuse go and see your local councillor.

the only way this will stop is when people care enough to actually parent their children. i know the type who would do that and its the fault of the parents and also the fault of the benefit system.

take the ball away. direct them to the nearest park. ring the police and tell them they are underage drinker/trespassing on private property etc.

I'm not actually sure what laws are being broken but they are certainly trespassing and possibly disturbing the peace. seriously ring the cops and ask them. they may be more than happy to help

The times it has happened to me, I've always gone out and shouted at them, then they are so scared they never do it again.

Put strips of bird-spikes on your wall. When the ball sticks on them and punctures... that'll learn them!

be a very very strict pero who can puncture the balls , or never return them if he gets it, if this doesn't work then try talking to the children, be calm and tell them clearly.
