Default In the Garden of Eden they ate of the "Fruit of Wisdom", but what if they had

eaten of the "Fruit of Life"? In the Garden of Eden, humans disobeyed God's command and ate of the "Fruit of Wisdom", but what if they had eaten of the "Fruit of Life" instead?

They would have lived forever.

"And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden..." (Genesis 3:22-23)

They probably did, until they ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil (I like your name for it, fruit of wisdom) it wouldn't be a problem because they weren't fallen, in a sinful state. After they ate the fruit of wisdom they needed to be able to die to be able to be resurrected with a perfect body.

Ez..31:8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.
That Tree was Satan
The tree of Life was Christ

The story would have been a lot shorter.
Perhaps more people would actually read the entire Bible.

I've wondered about that myself; would they have been immortal? :-)
