Default Gardening help please!!!?

Last fall, my Husband and I bought our first home. In the past, every spring I plant flowers all over, hang baskets of flowers, the more the better. I have held off this year, because this home, the previous owner obviously loved flowers as well. There are all kinds of flowers coming up, and I don't know how to take care of plants from bulbs. I have Lillies and tulips up, what do I do when they die off? Do I clip them? How often do you pull the bulbs out of the ground to thin them? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I have never had flowers that come up on their own!!

I have never pulled bulbs up - I live in Alabama and here it isn't necessary. When the bulbs die off you can tie them in a bundle and sorta roll them down low to the ground. I don't think it would hurt if you wanted to clip them

Tulips should be dug up an replanted in the fall, the lillys will grow all summer but not bloom all summer. You can just cut or pull the shoots left over from the blooms. Its not necassary to dig them up unless you just want to spread them to another area.Lillys have alot of bulbs an are almost impossible to get them all up at one time anyway.Should you dig them up you always replant bulb flowers in the fall. With lillys I would just cut them in the fall or mow them.
