Default Have 3 light standards in back garden using energy efficient CFC light...

...bulbs.Can I use a programmed switch ? Would like to be able to program the switch so that it would turn on in my absence at night, turn off in morning. Have been told CFC bulbs cannot be programmed. Is this true ?
