If I show him peanuts will he come to me?

it is a wild animal. don't make freinds with it, don't touch it, don't hand feed it. If you want, leave bird seed or peanuts out and admire from a distance. They could give you a disease or bite. And you don't want them to get used to humans. It is protective for them to fear humans--for their own good.

You can put out nuts or seeds or even corn. That will get your furry friends' attention. Just make sure you'd continue to feed them....because once they find a good food source they will teach their young where to go, and you'll have families of squirrels which is really cool!
