Default How much sun do you get in a North east garden in the Summer?

I am looking to buy a house shortly and most of the ones I have seen have North East/West gardens. Coming from a totally South facing one I am concerned there wont be much sun. Does anyone know if you get sun in the morning/afternon only? and does it only get certain parts of the garden?. I have tried a google search but can only get info on what plant can survive. I am looking more for the sunbathing aspect!!. Any help or advice or even some websites that will tell me more would be really appreciated as I didnt want to rely on the estate agents or vendors.
Many thanks

The answer will depend upon several variables, 1) the height of the house, 2) the slope of the land, 3) the latitude that the house is in, 4) whether the day is cloudy. So if the House is a bungalow, the land slopes to the Southwest and you are in southern England then most of your garden will be in sun all day as the sun will be above the roof in mid summer. You can change the variables to suit and a house of 2 stories with a garden that slopes to the Northeast will have very little sun after mid day, however remember that the Shadow will only completely eclipse the sun from the garden when the sun bears Southwest.

Well,if you are going to base your decision as to what house to buy on the sunbathing facilities,I really can.t think of any polite answers.
