Maybe you can look in a catalogue, I know you can order bulbs from Holland. You could also look online for nursuries that ship. I once had an aloe plant that I bought in Arizona, it didn't survive in the New England weather, and I didn't really know how to care for it. You could try Arizona for the plant if you want to drive eight hours.

Aloe vera is easily cultivated from cutting a "crown" from an existing plant. So if you know someone who has such plant, ask them nicely to give you a cutting. Most plant lovers would *love* to help their plants propagate, even under someone else's care.
