went to several Rangers games, during several times during the game, the crowd would whistle loudly in unison and then say, 'POTVIN SUCKS' were they referring to the 70's and 80's Islanders Defensemen Dennis Potvin? and if so, why? I just watched a Ranger game today on yahoo sports tv, Rangers vs. Stars, and I heard the crowd do the same chant, I can't believe they're still doing it after all of these years. Did the Rangers really hate Potvin that much to continue a chant for decades?

denis potvin had hit a ranger player ulf nilsson really hard into the boards which made him brake his ankle but wasnt penalized for it because it was a clean, HARD hit.
