Default My back garden has become a mudbath,is it costly or difficult to lay new grass?

Its used as a football pitch year round by my son and his mates.
Are there any other alternatives as i want them to continue playing there.

it will be difficult to reseed the area, if it is used as a football area, due to excessive use. If you want to improve the area you will have to under fill it a tad and replant a hearty grass type for your particular area
