It depends on what species of tree it is. (there are many kinds of trees used in Bonsai, the Bonsai part is the shaping and trimming and all that) Many plants used in Bonsai are a big pain in the butt to take care of. A friend of mine went through a half dozen before he finally gave up on them. One got too much sun, one drowned in all the water, I don't know what he did to the others. You should look online to find out what type of plant your bonsai is. Then do research on what conditions it needs for light and water and soil. You should also look for some info on how to shape and trim your tree so you don't over cut it and kill it that way

All those questions depend on the type of plant it is. Take it to your local nursery and talk to the owner or Grower there. They should help you. I would call to make sure they are there, they don't always spend every day there. They do a lot of traveling and buying and planning. If it's green, it needs light, not direct sun. Fertilizer, very weak mix of liquid Miracle Grow and water it until it goes through the bottom holes of the container then let it dry out to the point that it isn't too dry. Sort of like dry on top but not real wet under that...if the soil stays wet all the time the roots will rot. Other that that I know little about that type of growing. I was married and owned a greenhouse business for 14 yrs. we didn't do those. We bought and resold but that was it on those. Good luck. I hate to see it die. There are websites dealing with this too.
