I think my bonsai tree has died.?

The leaves have all dried up and are gradually all falling off. I've bought some special bonsai food for it but it is not perking up!! Am i supposed to strip off the dead leaves for it to start again, or what do i do!!?? It's been like this for some time now and i have tried repotting it, but don't know what else to do!?
