Default can i grow a white rose any color i want if i dye the water and not dye the flower?

i am doing a a science experiment and i want to know if i change the color of the water...can my white rose become a different color...the whole point is not to dye the rose after it is fully grown but to grow it a certain color

colors depend on genetics, colored water, sorry won't work. the roots won't transfer it, but if you cut it you might get a little faint tinting but I doubt it will be dramatic.

i'm pretty sure you just have to put some colouring in the water and put the rose in... the colour will seep through the roots. alot of people sell blue and green and orange ones by my house

You can try, that's a very interesting thing. I never thought of that. I'm going to try. My guess is that, however much colored water reaches the rose, thats how colored the rose will be. Although, the soil obsorbs a lot of water too, and perhaps the die would not make it to the flower. Very interesting!
