Default Can you take flowers on a plane overseas?

I want to surprise my significant other with roses right off the plane after a long overseas flight. Is it permissible to board with live flowers in the U.S.? And how could I find out if the country I'm going to will allow them?

I don't think they'll allow you to take flowers on board-they pose a potential biohazard threat. You will have to contact US Customs for more details. Why not just by a few flowers at the airport gift shop?
