hello,

i have spent day and night trying to find out what flower this is. I guess it is one of those things that just bugs you until you find the answer.

I am debating between Marabalis Jalapa and Evening Primrose.

I saw it on some silly religious forum for muslims, and the flower supposedly opens up during the sunset prayers. The video showed it open. and it opened quick.

Well, Evening Primrose opens at sunset anyways, and it opens quickly. So that gives me reason to believe it is that! also,in terms of shape, it looks more like it.

At the same time though, it looks different closed. When closed, it is still yellow(the color of the flower) whereas in primrose, there is a green thing that goes over it (correct me if i am wrong.)
EDIT: i have rewatched the video and it actually does indeed have a green thing that covers it i think. it was just opened enough to hide it. i think at least!
Also, some evening primroses do not even close, but rather just shrivel. So that gives me reason to believe it is mirabilis jalapa. Also, the title of the video I saw is called "wunderblume" which is german for mirabalis jalapa. At the same time, it can also mean "miracle flower", although it is usually a space between wunder and blume.

So PLEASE, someone tell me what you think it is! I mean this is just one of those things that bug me.
