Default does anyone know what part of a tree or plant cleans the air?

does anyone know what part of a tree or plant cleans the air?

is it the leaves?
bark?
roots?
then want happens when the leaves fall off? like in the winter time?

oxygen produced during photosynthesis can only pass out of the leaf through the opened stomata.
