Default how do you grow a lemon tree indoors?

hi!im trying to grow a lemon tree in my home.i live in brantford, ontario and its-at the moment-snowing.so its obviously cold outside.the other day i was making some lemonade and i took the seeds fron the lemon and put them in a container with rocks and dirt on the bottom +wet paaper towel on top.i placed some seeds in the dirt and some in between a layer of paper towel.ive checked all over the interent and all the sites say that when you take seeds from store-bought lemons they sometimes dont bear fruit or are extra sour or grow too tall etc.they recommend buying these sent-in-the-mail lemons that will apparently turn out great. all i wanted to do was plant some lemon seeds.theirs no way im wasting my money on lemon seeds from half-the-way-around the world when i have seeds basically right in front of me.and they look fine to me.help?any advice would be nicethanx a ton

Generally speaking, citrus don't do well from the seed. They are usually grafted or propagated. http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/citrus/budding/budding.htm
From the seed they usually grow big thorns and the fruit is deformed and does not taste as good.
I've used Gurney's before and were very satisfied. They have miniature citrus trees that do quite well as indoor plants. Sometimes they sell one plant that can give three different citrus fruit (lemon, lime and orange).
Here is their link,

Check them out, and you may find what your after.
Good Luck, ;-)
