Default How do you plant a forest (1000+) of hybrid poplar trees onto a field of high fescue?

Hybird Poplar are the fast growing shade variety, not the Lombardy Poplar which is very narrow.

First, call your County Agent. They can access the Soil Conservation office in your area to help. They sell and install trees at an unbeatable price. RScott

one at a time
it will take a while....unless you use a post hole digger and then just drop the tree in the hole and cover.

First, the fescue should be mowed, otherwise it would probably choke out the trees if they aren't taller than the grass.
if you plant these trees in rows and leave enough space between rows, then you could keep it mowed until the trees become established.
