how to stop Possums eating everything in garden especially citrus trees and vegie...

...patches?? INVASION ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGG in the walls the roof underneath Eating everything in their path.Little furry KILLERS .Want to grow food for MY FAMILY !!!Please help We are not allowed to kill them OK (they are protected under Australian Law) and they are rather cute from a distance a very looooooooooooooong distance.Thanks
