Default If animals have rights why cant the plant and trees have rights too?

Do we know if the plants and trees have a desire to live and not be killed ? Just because we dont have this knowledge can we justify denial of rights to plants and trees

The concept of rights is solely human, rights of animals are a set of rules about human conduct towards animals. and the same is true about plants, some plants are protected by law, and that is, again, a law made by humans, which defines how humans should behave towards protected plants.

plants can't feel pain nor can they think or have emotions. and not all animals have rights either.
Rights are usually given to those animals with greater amounts of intelligence and emotions. Typically rights aren't given to insects. (yes animals can be sad too)

naturally the weaker whose asking Rights by him self or by others here in your Q the plant is the head of the food chain ( Donner ...food maker .... photosytheser.... dominate on life ...the only living item which able to change the water&Co2 to organic matter i.e food ) that is mean strongest and his right is comes with the of all living things

Because they don't have a soul. While the jury is still out on if animals actually do, plants do not have a language, can't feel pain, or love...so they figure that they do not qualify in the great scheme of things.

Besides, if plants had rights, we wouldn't have fine paper products heh.

Plants and trees need to be looked after. For example one quarter of the oxygen we have come from the Amazon rain forest which is being taken down for wood. At the present rate this is allowed to happen it will disappear within the next 40-50 years. I don't know about you people but I'm addicted to breathing and see the folly in removing these things. Don't get me wrong I'm not a total tree hugger however the total deforestation is wrong. We learn in the third grade about the benefits of plants and trees and I can't believe we have forgotten that quickly.

Plants and trees do have rights, and most people respect them in just the same way as most people respect animal rights, and human, rights.
