Default My garden is very small and the grass goes yellow because the

surrounding trees block the sun from it.? I live in Baghdad and my garden is very small and I use American grass. Although the sun is very strong but the grass goes yellow because the surrounding trees and fence block the sun from it. Unlike USA, although the sun is not very strong (compared with the sun in Iraq) but when I see the grass I think that blocking the sun from it does not affect its color.
I tried using urine fertilizer but it did not work.
So what do I do to keep my grass green?

I would say it is time to count it as a loss and plan on redoing the area next year with grass that is specifically for shady areas. They make it now. I finally gave up and planted grass for sunny areas in an area that really gets it from sunup to sundown. It actually looks better than all the rest of my yard!! I didn't think there would really be a difference, but the technology now is so good, I should have known! Also, I joined the Scott's Lawn and Garden site on the web and they send me an e-mail each month to remind me what I am supposed to be doing that month for my lawn (winterize, etc). They have forums you can go into and find the answers for ANYTHING to do with growing something! I love it cause I could look at pics of weeds people sent in even, and go, OH, I have that weed. Then they tell you what to do with it, and people talk about what worked and what product really didn't work and what all their tricks were. Sorry about the run-on sentences. Anyway, good luck!!
