Default Rambutan tree: Anyone out there growing one of these who can offer some advice?

Just looking for 411. The tree is about two feet tall and seems to be doing well. It remains potted, and the plan is to plant it in the backyard in a couple-of-years when it becomes even better established in the pot.

One question: about how old does the tree have to be before it produces fruit? It's not a grafted tree. My suspicion is that it is grown from a seed.
The tree is planted in S. Florida. It remains warm enough down here for most of the year. We have planted a tiny mangosteen tree too!
Again, we will be planting it outiside in the sun once it has grown to about five feet. Right now it is kept in the shade on the back porch in a three-gallon pot.
