I would like to grow a tree that will produce fruit. I was told that planting apple seeds would not produce apples similar to the fruit. Is their any fruit tree that seeds are similar to the original? I live in New York so I would like a variety of fruit that will grow well in my area.

Of course apple seeds will produce apples similar to the fruit. And if you want it to produce fruits for many years, do not prune it. The harvest will be harder, but the tree will produce more fruits with time.
