Default How many fruits can you grow in animal crossing wild world on ds?

so far i have planted apples and oranges can i have more than 2 different type of fruits planted

and also i have a question everytime i try to plant a cocunut it doesn't work at one point i even chopped down all my fruit trees and made sure i only planted orange and cocunut trees but then only the orange trees grew.

coconuts must be planted by the beach.
any fruit can grow in any town.
apples, oranges, peaches, cherries, pears, and coconuts
it is also a good idea to water a tree when you first plant it
