Default Will the plants produced from old vegetable seeds be as productive as those grown...

...from fresh seeds? I have many old vegetable seeds that are still viable. My question is: Will the plants that they produce be as productive as those grown from fresh seed?
Does anyone know of any scientific experiments testing this question? Thank you for your help.
